Little known stories # 7 Ruth

Rarely do we focus on the story of Ruth as a widow story. Yet the book of Ruth is primarily a book about three widows. Not a romantic love and marriage story. The greatest story in the book is that of Ruth declaring her acceptance of Naomi’s God, the one true God.
Ruth 1: 16, 17. “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”
Consider that she made this decision watching Naomi becoming widowed, the death of her sons, and an alien in a strange country.
