Lessons from wrestling

Thankfully my grandsons seasons of wrestling is over.  With three grandsons immersed in this sport, I’ve watched countless matches with nerves and stomach in knots.

And I’ve learned some spiritual perspectives.  Ephesians 6:12 states that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Why use the wrestling analogy?  Because its personal, one on one, every muscle. nerve, and brain cell straining against a foe who wants to take you down.

The victory is won not on the mat but in the hours, days, weeks, and months of discipline, right eating, and mastering technique.

We need to know our adversary, my friend, and be prepared to go to the mat.
