Good Grief 2

Are you struggling through a time of loss getting unrealistic, silly advice you neither want, nor is helpful?  Here’s an example.

‘You’ve got to be strong for others, for the kids, for your mom–who ever.’

This myth promotes denying reality and not healthy personal grieving. Read the book of Ruth.  Naomi’s real transparent grieving, being honest before God, resulted in her widowed daughter-in-law, Ruth becoming a believer.

We are as strong as the shoulders we stand on.  And as tender as the shoulders we cry on.  For me, those shoulders are God himself.  Through our healing we become strong for others.  Its not possible when we’re crumbling inside.

So my friend.  Lean heavily on God’s strong shoulders and weep on them as well.
