M President Abraham Lincoln was asked for some ready money and acknowledged the difficulty. He proposed that the person go to work ‘tooth and nail.’ He stated that that if he gave hime the $80 he’d be back in debt. The requester had a poor work ethic.
V I Timothy 5: 8 says provide for your own. A family member without, step up. And II Thessalonians 3:10 that says if one does not work, they shall not eat. Is this contradictory? Not really. God expects us to work. God expects us to plan and be accountable. And be generous.
M God treats us equally, but uniquely. He creates proper expectations and gives grace .
