Work and age

I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M Age should be a sign of wisdom and valuable experience. Unfortunately, it is sometimes viewed as a time of lower productivity, lack of flexibility, and discomfort with technology. Being out of a job is a challenge for that ‘vintage’ person over 60.
V Attending conferences, serving on panels, and volunteering show you are involved. Applying to smaller companies may open a door as they receive fewer resumes. Income may be lower, and you may have to accept that. Staying productive, is important, and might lead to being hired.
M Diversify while working by developing new skills on the side. That ‘hobby’ might be your next job. Remember, your value is not defined by your job.
