Words 2

Do you remember how your name sounded on the lips of that person who loved you?  Or how it sounds today spoken by your dearest friend?  I still remember, though Bob has been in Heaven 15 years, shortly after we met, he looked intently at me and sang in his beautiful baritone voice, “Miriam, I just met a girl named Miriam.”  The tune was from Maria, from West Side Story.  But to this day, I believe the song was written for me.  Yes, I melted and married him in less than a year.  He sang this to me when I was 19.

My name was always safe in his mouth.

A greater love story is that of Jesus for us.  He calls us by name and tenderly shepherds us through life’s upheavals.  Is His name safe in our mouths?
