What widows teach us

As I studied to write the book, Not Alone, 11 inspiring stories about widows in the Bible, I was surprised multiple times by important lessons taught by widows.  Not only their words, but their example.  They are diversity on steroids.

Named, unnamed.  Jew, gentile.  Skeptical, then faith filled.  Wealthy and poor.  Uprooted and planted.  Can you name them?

The widow who gave two mights, nameless, yet pointed out by Jesus as an example of extreme generosity.  We do not know her name.  God does. Jesus does, and she taught all of us well, by her actions.

I challenge you to study the widows in the Bible.  Whether you are a man or a woman, you’ll be uplifted and challenged by their example.
