Wealthy women in Scripture

M One source of wisdom related to money is Scripture. We see examples of women of considerable means and how they lived. One was Lydia. She and others had gathered at a river bank to pray. Paul and Silas joined them and she became a Christ follower. She owned her own home and was a dealer in purple cloth. This was a lucrative profession. Some considered purple cloth a better investment than silver or gold.
V Lydia and her household became believers and were baptized. Their conversion was public. Lydia invited Paul and Silas to her home, offering them housing on their journey. We admire this woman of wealth who was hospitable, and open heart to Jesus and then an open home to his people.
