V Necessity teaches you the difference between wants and needs. At one point I learned this about cars. I have a good car: 9 years old, about 70K miles on it. But it’s starting to rust around the wheel wells. I could hardly believe it. My car guy told me the fix was not even guaranteed to work more than one year. So I could get a different car.
