Walls

Walls: barriers that send a message. I stood peering over a wall that barred me from a special section of the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. I could’t go there. I am a woman.
Invisible walls line city maps and send a message: you can’t buy real estate there. You won’t fit in. The Berlin wall divided a nation. Some walls protect. Some exclude.
Heaven will have jasper walls. While its streets will be gold, and the foundation, precious stones, jasper is not known for its value or brilliance, its clear as crystal, see through, opaque, transparent. No secrets, no segregation. Galatians 3:28 will finally be true. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
No wonder they call it Heaven.
