Vetting a contractor

I’m Miriam  Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money

M Most of us need remodeling, repairs, or even renovation of our living space at some time.  I dread this and want to keep it simple.  Not a good idea.  Thought, planning, energy, time and money are required.

V Likely a contractor will be needed.  Important first step:  get several proposals, at least 3.  It is not uncommon for proposals to vary some being 3 times higher than another.  Next, don’t assume that high price means high quality.  Online resources make it easy to review their credentials and experience.  Time invested early means less head aches later.

M  Working with contractors is an opportunity to be Christ like.  Open, clear, prompt in payment for services rendered.  Treat them as you wish to be treated.
