Tumultuous Times

Our government is in turmoil. Talking to folks in D.C. recently, its not just perception. It’s reality. However, I am a Christ follower first, and then a citizen of this country. Actually, just an ambassador here, citizen of Heaven, just passing through. We need to remember, tumultuous times existed in Jesus’ day. He did not focus on changing the Roman government. He called on God’s people to be pure! The Jewish leaders were corrupt too!
Our great need is to examine ourselves before God. Is He first in my heart, my calendar, my finances, my relationships? Each morning I pray for God to direct my thinking, my being, the essence of who I am, my doing, and my saying. A clear conscience before God is comfort in tumultuous times.
