I’m Miriam Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money
M Couples having success with their finances compromise. Two people, different families of origin, wishes, dreams, habits. Conflict can rule, or compromise, conversation required. How and when to spend or save can be a challenge.
V Tax deadlines are still weeks away, yet that reality can be a prompter for discussion. Boxes to fill in are information. What is coming in? Deductibles: Property taxes, Mortgage interest, Charitable giving. If you haven’t been budgeting together, this is an open door to start.
M If the word budget seems to be a dirty word, here’s a suggestion. Together keep a monthlong spending journal. Track both personal and household expenses. At the end of the month take time to talk, facts and feelings included.
