The unnamed in Scripture

Recently a speaker was bemoaning and criticizing the fact that some people in Scripture are unnamed.  She stated that deprived them of the recognition they deserved.

Problem:  That implies error or at least oversight in Scripture.  Consider 2 Timothy 3:16.  ‘All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.’ God-breathed Scripture is exactly as it should be for God’s purposes.  No error or oversight.

Next:  The point of telling of people in Scripture is to reveal what is important to God.  The widow who gave two mites was not seeking recognition.  Nor was the widow of Zarapath or the unnamed faith-filled widow and the pot of oil.

Scripture is not Whose Who.  Its God’s instruction guide.
