Thanksgiving expectations

M Many hosts of the Thanksgiving meal are making lists and counting the cost of the celebration. Some know that attendees have expectations. Center pieces can morph from a simple tiny pumpkin to an elaborate, expensive floral arrangement.
V We stress being wise with money and acquiring what you can afford and fits your spending plan. The pilgrims first Thanksgiving was food they had access to in abundance. The focus was not food, though they had lots. It was the shared experience with the Native Americans of gratitude. It is likely they were not worshipers of God. Yet they ate together and experienced the open hospitality of the believing pilgrims.
