Social media like Facebook, and twitter have changed our lives. A few people have become extremely wealthy for their concepts, and we all have the opportunity to be more in touch with loads of people if we choose.
But not all is sunshine. Reputations have been ruined–any one can say anything true of false on Facebook about someone. Individuals self perception can become skewed as they compare themselves to everyone else and their happy postings.
I take comfort in John 8:32 and II Corinthians 13:8 which assure us that the truth makes us free and will eventually win out.
But this is real life. James warns us that the tongue is a powerful and potentially dangerous tool. Social media multiplies its impact for bad or good.
