So Many Unknowns

In my vintage years, I’ve seen much turmoil.  Conflicts between countries I’ve visited and seen the ravages of war.  I still remember the fields of Croatia in the late 1990s still dangerous from mines planted there during conflict.  Russia, I watched as mobsters ruled the streets.

David’s Psalms address turmoil.  39: 4 reminds us our lives are fleeting.  For me that means meaningful, purposeful living every day.  Seasons of life bring different spheres of influence.  In public high schools, I was salt and light as a counselor.  That season is over.

I’m reminded not to compare, think what is lesser, or less impact. My responsibility, in fact privilege, is to live today knowing life is fleeting.  And Heaven is ahead.
