Single women and money

M Most of the women in the United States are single.  Never married, divorced, widowed.  The single woman who has never married, has no children faces unique challenges.

 

V Her rent is the same as the next door neighbors where there may be two incomes.  Single living costs are more than half that of married people.   In an emergency, she does not have a spouse or children to back her up.   Start young to take advantage of time for your retirement portfolio.  She should keep a reserve of 12–18 months living costs in reserve.  Yes, that’s twice the recommended.
