Serving in hard places

These days of great disruption most of us are realizing that our days ahead will be different from the past.  For many not just different but challenging.

I’m studying Philip, one of Jesus disciples.  I would call him the disciple in hard places.  Outspoken, recruiting the skeptic Nathanael as a disciple.  Assigned to serve widows in the early church.  Preached in Samaria successfully proclaiming the gospel to a people group who were skeptical of all things Jewish.  Stalked by Simon the magician who was intrigued by his message.  Sent to the Gaza strip to bring the gospel to an influential Ethiopian treasurer.

No disciple has an easy assignment.  For many of us, our assignment will be different.  Philip is an example of this truth: With God all things are possible.
