Saul and David

Humans sin and we will until we die or arrive in Heaven.  Yet God forgives and even called one sinner, King David, a man after His own heart.  Saul, the previous King was replaced as king by David.  How did they differ?  Saul never repented of his sins, self centeredness, jealousy, and envy.  David’s sins were just as egregious.  Murder, adultery, marrying many women he should not have.  But He repented, wept, asked forgiveness.  Neither ended well.  Saul was killed in a losing battle, David left his family in shambles and did not hold them accountable for their sins, which were much like his own.

Lesson, confession and repentance matter to God.  Saul didn’t think he needed it.  David did.
