Safe places # 2

As Christians struggle with the many revelations of sexual impropriety in our churches, I see a thread common to some, not all that can be addressed. Often the woman sensed that there was something elevating to her in that relationship. She was compensating for that man’s less than satisfactory wife. She was helping that leader move forward more successfully. “He made me feel special.”
In other words, she was not embracing her precious worth as God’s created and accepted daughter. Proper esteem enough to avoid, rebuke, and report the abuser.
Sisters in Christ, we are not special because of any other persons love, respect, affirmation, gift giving, compliments, provision, promotion, or flattery.
God alone is enough. Created Psalm 139:13-16 fearfully and wonderfully made. Planned, Commissioned, forgiven redeemed. No human, no matter their position. God is enough.
