Proverbs 31
October 24, 2016
I have
heard many lessons and sermons on the Proverbs 31 lady. Some say she was an out and about market
place working woman. Some insist all her
endeavors were home based, the stay at home mom.
We try
to shove folks into a predetermined mold in our mind. She does not fit. She is both and she’s not juggling, she’s
managing.
Another
debate, is Solomon speaking of his mother Bathsheba? We don’t know. I do know this. His description fits Abigail, one of David’s
other wives. Both Solomon and Bathsheba
would have known her well. I Samuel 25
describes this industrious, courageous woman.
She is all of the Proverbs 31 lady as the wife of Nabal, a surly,
foolish man.
Circumstance
doesn’t make a woman, God does.
