Promises

What promises do you treasure? Words of your husband on your wedding day? Words of a trusted parent when you were in trouble? Words of a friend when you’re discouraged? Here are two I like to hear:
I’ll be back! and
I’ve got your back.
A friend boards a plane to another continent. Your husband leaves to keep a commitment. ‘I’ll be back.‘ You treasure those words.
Disaster happens. You can’t fix it alone. You friend shows up to help. Those actions shout, “I’ve got your back!” I broke a vertebrae. My competent doctor did all the right things. He has my back.
That treasured person does not always return. That trusted person can’t fix everything. We’re human.But God makes those two promises, and He keeps them.
