Preparing for Thanksgiving # 2
November 10, 2020
I recently heard a news commentator state he would no longer meet with those he disagreed with politically. If we all embraced that, families could not, would not gather for Thanksgiving. What a tragedy not to embrace the blessings of diversity of ideas.
We are wise to think carefully how we can fully respect family members and friends of different persuasions. Scripture tells us to be salt and light, not a sledge hammer and lightening.
So here’s an idea. I’m placing two words in small places where I will see them and be reminded during the day. GRACE, and MERCY. I am free to listen, nod, and be silent.
Give thanks that we can gather. That we can feast together. And give thanks that we can laugh.
