post covid emotions 2

I participated in a recent call in show asking folks their post covid emotions.  What a list!  Anxiety, despair, sadness, frustration, even thankfulness.  Shock and awe, frustration, depression, and just tired and weary.

First, lets acknowledge that emotions are God given and serve a purpose. Depression is a normal response to an unwanted change, often a negative one.  This is no smile, ‘ha ha’ moment.  Our victory is to name it and adapt in a God honoring way to our new reality.  We can, because God is ready to help us do that.

One woman, widowed during covid took that month of solitude, no celebration, no people contact, to remember, and grieve fully.  She told me that required solitude was a blessing for which she was thankful.  A  covid God honoring response.
