Post covid emotions
May 4, 2021
Neighbors are out walking and Spring signals New Beginnings. Yet, emotions for some post covid are still raw. Gatherings missed, celebrations delayed or abandoned, depression lingers.
Let’s acknowledge that depression is a normal emotional response to an unwanted or unexpected change. To be cheerful in the face of chaos or crises would mean we had hearts of stone. The solution: we must change, adapt, accept. And that all takes time.
We think, pray, invite words of wisdom from others and adapt to the new realities in our lives. Meanwhile we take care of our bodies, connect with encouragers and rethink what we value. The road ahead is still uncertain. Yet our God is unchanging, ever dependable, the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He is the lifter of our hearts.
