Peanut butter jars and light bulbs

Have you ever noticed that in tough times small things become a huge crisis?

As I was surviving the “Numb” after Bob’s death, a stubborn useless light bulb refused to leave it’s recessed socket.  Small thing–a light bulb.  Drag in a ladder, closer might help.  Bob reached this easily being 6 foot 3 with long arms.  That bulb was stubborn.   A towel rather than my sweating hand might work.

I began to resent again Bob’s untimily death.  Finally the light bulb lost.  I won.  But I was mad all over again at life.

Can you relate?  My divorcee friend’s battle was with a peanut butter jar lid.  No strong hand to help.

Perspective, my friend.  Let’s plead with God daily, hourly to face down the big stuff.  And that the light bulbs and peanut butter jar lids don’t win.
