Out Walking 2

God does lots of business when we’re out walking. One of the most significant walks in Scripture is the journey of Ruth, Naomi, and Orpha leaving Moab, all widows, going back to Naomi’s hometown Bethlehem.
It wasn’t easy. A 4 or 5 day walk, women alone on a road less than comfortable. Yet we see God at work. Orpha turned back, hugged the past. The conversion of Ruth to become a lover of God, willing to leave all she knew and understood, family, culture, friends, and favored foods.
All because she was watching Naomi. And it was NOT the easiest season of Naomi’s life. Yet she was real. Desperate in her tenacious hold on God. And Ruth wanted what she had. And claimed it. On a walk. No turning back. Unimaginable blessings ahead.
