Open doors

One desire of Christ followers is to serve God.  God gives each of us gifts to use for His purposes, varied and valuable.  Today, even in our churches, some gifts are seen as more valuable than others.  Some are allowed to serve, and others not.  Not only is this frustrating to those who are not allowed to serve in their church, God’s Kingdom is not flourishing as we could be.

Paul experienced this himself.  Romans 1: 10  He wanted to visit the Romans.  Some doors were open, some closed.  Some synagogues welcomed him to teach.  Others slammed the door.  What we see from Paul’s life is that when people close doors, God opens others.

Churches today tend to have defined slots for serving.  Thankfully Jesus discipled people to use the gifts they were given.
