Open doors

We often ask God to open doors of opportunity for ourselves.  Employment, ministry, advancing in areas that matter to us.  Reading Colossians 4: 3 we see Paul asking for prayers for open doors.

He was in prison.  He knew God had opened prison doors miraculously for his disciples before.  So Paul asked for prayers.  He prayed that God would open doors for the gospel to go out.  Notice he did NOT ask that God open his prison door to freedom.

I asked myself, “Does the gospel going out matter more to me than my comfort? My freedom?  Am I bold enough to represent Jesus’ message anywhere?

I am not tasked to evaluate the climate for the gospels reception. Just my willingness to share it. Let’s pray that God open many doors for the gospel.
