One more bubble

I read bumper stickers.  Recent read (I’m not making this up.)  Seen in Silicon Valley, California.  “God, may there be just one more bubble before I die!”

Silly, greedy, shallow.  I wasn’t extending grace to that driver.

What about my prayers.  Have I been praying self-interest prayers? (Like praying for a sport victory?)  selfish prayers?

‘Before I die’ speaks volumes.  Does that driver know where he or she will be after he dies?  Does she realize her financial windfall from a tech bubble will be of absolutely no value or consequence in her life after this one?

That’s a good measuring stick for the importance of my prayer.  Will this prayer and God’s answer have any value or consequence in their life and mine after this life?  That’s a prayer that matters.
