M People often do not want their children to be affected by their financial hardship or situation. They spend as before, and try to shield their loved ones from the truth. But we honor our loved ones, including our children when we appropriately and wisely trust them with the truth.
V Children know a lot more than we credit them for about our financial stress. They perceive it and sometimes even figure it out. My advice, DO NOT dig the hole deeper by painting a picture that is not accurate. As much as you want to shield your loved ones from additional loss or pain, they need the real you, and a healthy you. Children will learn from our example.
