Minor children and the importance of wills

I’m Miriam  Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money

M  Most American adults do not have wills.  Sadly many of those have minor children who will suffer, necessarily.  As people of faith, we care who raises our children.

V  When parents of minor children die without a will, the courts determine guardianship. Their first look is at close relatives and who the children know well.  Our priority was a couple with like faith.  That aspect was more important than family links.  The person was designated custodian, of assets to meet our children’s needs.

M We recognize that young couples don’t anticipate early death.    However, God has entrusted those children to you.  Love them well by creating a good plan should the unexpected happen.
