Mary’s sacrifice

I’m Miriam  Neff-with STARTING OVER FINANCIALLY,-and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, and we’re here to talk about money

M Consider one woman’s financial sacrifice.  Mary the sister of Martha and Lazarus anointed the Lord with perfume and dried his feet with her hair.  John 11: 2.  She repeated this again shortly before his death.  John 12: 3.  Each jar was worth a years wages, possibly her life savings.

V  Regardless of value, the important example is generosity that many could not understand.  Judas criticized her.  Mary  did something others would not do, acknowledge that Jesus was more precious than anything.  Perfume a possible dowry at marriage.  Jesus, more valuable than a life mate.  Jesus more precious than a proper burial.

M Lesson.  Don’t judge another.  I Corinthians 16: 2

Give as you have been given, determined by God’s hand on your life.
