Legacy

Often these days we hear leaving a legacy.  I’m  reading the biographies of Margaret Thatcher and Eleanor Roosevelt.  Both did leave a legacy and it was different that what folks expected at the time.  Thatcher had to step down as Prime Minister because her cabinet no longer backed her.  Eleanor was seen as too absent from the White House and her duties as the president’s wife.

Now Thatcher is seen as one who got it right and spoke courageously.  Roosevelt is seen as the first activist first lady who better grasped the realities of our country than most.

Lesson:  you may think you’re not living a legacy.  You leave one.  It’s hindsight, imprint and impact beyond what is possible for you to see.

I’m wishing to have courage to live right by God’s perspective.  Nothing else matters.
