Learning after loss

Since founding Widow Connection, I’ve learned, stretched, grown, and learned more.  May I share what military widows taught me?  Don’t ask specifics about their husband’s death.  That’s true for the rest of us widows as well.  But for military widows?  Rude.  Sadly curiosity is often the motivation, not kindness. Its painful and private.  Don’t ask.

Also, don’t assume that their financial resources mean security.  Vultures appear, and often they, as well as the rest of us, are not as informed as we need to be from budget matters to investments.  Grief skews their thinking.  They need understanding and common sense support.

God teaches us all for a reason. So we can comfort, even offer a helping hand to some one else.
