Journal blessings

Why record what God has done and is doing in our lives?  I’ve done that for years.  Heartbreak, God in action.  Pleading and thanksgiving.  My journal is not lofty like King David’s psalms, yet they reflect God in my life.  Markings in my Bible recently reminded me of God’s goodness. Psalm 141: 2 May my prayer be set before you like incense;  may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

In the margin, August 1996.  ‘a gentle breeze, my front porch. starting another school year in my public high school .  June 2018  front porch again,  gentle breeze, Lord you have blessed me so.

In those 20 years death faced, a broken back, incarceration of one I love, real living.  God has always received my prayers.  His answers not what I expected, but always good.
