Jesus gifts

Shopping for gifts? Is it fun or frustrating? The tradition started with baby Jesus and three wise men. I wonder if Mary and Joseph shook their heads at gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. While these are precious, I wonder if they wished for an extra donkey for the trip home. A few sheep as an economic help to their growing family. We don’t know.
We do know that today, gift giving can bless, backfire, or be neutral.
Consider these biblical guidelines. Our greatest treasures are in heaven. Can you give a gift that has eternal value? A commitment to help them raise funds to go on a short term mission trip? Give a gift that promotes good connections. Our family calendar daily reminds us, we are not alone. We have each other.
