How love looks # 2

Our culture has done an extreme job of defining what a love relationship looks like. And its badly skewed. Songs speak of the dependency of two people in a love relationship on each other. That’s not Godly love. Each person’s dependency is on God. And because of that each can give love even when it can not be reciprocated. And that is true at least some times in any relationship. Illness, times of depletion, and the messes of life.
Dependency deprives one of the recognition that God is our ultimate lover, on whom we can truly depend. He’s there for us when no one else is. Gives us strength to love in unloving circumstances. Read I Cor 13. That is how love looks. He shows us and helps us live it.
