How love looks

One of the greatest themes in the Bible is that of love. Perhaps because it is so important to God, to our Faith, in all our relationships. This whole world and certainly our culture has hijacked what it means to love, what love looks like.
Culture: when you love someone, you give to them, do things for them, a good thing. The twist: loves recipient, takes what is given and expects more. Uses it for self. In a true love relationship, that loved person passes the love on. Extends it to others instead of being self absorbed.
The leader twist: loving followers end up being used, rather than appreciated. The leader believes they are owed that behavior. I Corinthians 13. God’s kind of love is not selfish. He showed us how to love.
