Hiding and Jonah

I’ve observed that when unexpected change happens, including crisis, our human response can be to hide. We may hibernate, avoid people, not connect with those who can encourage and strengthen us. Examples in Scripture show us examples. Lets see how hiding works.
Jonah was on assignment from God to confront an evil city. He did not like that assignment. So he ran, hid in a ship going a different direction. Big storm. The other passengers decided someone bad on board was responsible. It was the disobedient Jonah. They threw him overboard to drown. But God had a different plan. A fish swallowed him, and spit him out. Now Jonah was ready to do his assignment. He discovered hiding does not work.
