Heart

The word ‘heart’ appears 725 times in Scripture. The word ‘mind’ appears 163 times. Yes, what we think in our minds is important. But the leanings and desires of our hearts–crucial.
When I wrote Women and Their Emotions, based on my counseling background, I studied both. Our hearts are fickle, powerful, and direct our living. Where our heart is today, our life will be tomorrow.
Our goal, to have a pure heart. This is impossible to create ourselves. Psalm 51: 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Only God can create in us a pure heart. The beginning is a clear conscience. Confession results in forgiveness. Then we can forgive because we have been forgiven.
