Good purpose
July 4, 2017
We are a culture of comparisons. Finances, stuff, family achievements, even ministry! I puzzle when folks tell me they lack purpose. Are they comparing themselves with the plan God has for others rather than God’s plan for THEM?
Ministry focus can be trendy. Hunger, disease, sex trafficking: all these are worthy of our efforts to address and eradicate. But steady parenting, balancing your budget and living within your means, praying and fasting for those ministering where you cannot go: all this is purposeful living.
Helping one struggling student master a concept, learn a new word, solve a problem. You are making a difference.
Rather than comparing, let’s simply ask God to help us do what he has given us for this day in a way that honors Him.
