Good Friday

Many call today Good Friday.  I cannot, with first thoughts, call this day, two days before celebrating Jesus resurrection from the dead, good.  As I read in Scripture all he suffered that day, I can only weep.  I take time to contemplate, read Scripture, and pray.

I’m contemplating what is good about that day. The greatest is that Jesus’ love for me is so vast that He endured all mocking and torture willingly.  In other places, he disappeared from a crowd, defied the laws of nature.  He could have done all that on ‘good’  Friday.

He chose to carry my sins, yours and the whole world’s sin on His shoulders on that cross.  What love!  That’s one great good on this bleak Friday.  Celebration is yet to come.
