A good lesson to learn from 2020 is that living requires us to be flexible. In our ministry to widows, we love going to developing countries, training widows in a self sustaining skill. Their children are better fed. They have access to medical care when needed. We love going to meet them and serve them.
Covid closed that traveling door. Additional doors opened here at home. Many widows, and others, were restricted in being with people, even worshiping.
We were able to give encouraging gifts, colorful plants in the summer and warm scarves in the winter. They were encouraged. Some felt they had been forgotten.
Jesus refers to this as giving a ‘cup of cold water.’ Matthew 10: 42. Let’s all flex to see new needs around us.
