Fewer Christians

A Pew Research Center study shows that as of 2020 about 64% of Americans identify as Christian.  Fifty years ago, that number was 90%.

I have observed mushrooming mega churches in my lifetime.  One would think Christianity is thriving.  Their research showed some trends.  If raised Christian, more men disaffiliated than women. Younger people more than older people.

I’m challenged by this data to follow Jesus’ example.  Disciple a few, staying close in the stuff of daily living.  Be a witness, no matter what.  The woman at the well did.  Because of her people went to the well to see Jesus for themselves.  Tell my grandchildren of my struggles in seasons, and how Jesus showed up.  How He mattered in my life.  Clay feet and all. A time for speaking up, not a time for silence.
