M Does money prompt bad stuff. For sure. Stealing is explicitly condemned in the Old and New Testament. As Christ followers, we may not do this overtly. However, we can slide into exploiting others financially.
V We pay little attention to I Thessalonians 4: 6 “that no one exploit a brother or sister.” Example, do we take advantage of a vulnerable poor person who signs for something impossible to cover? Self enriching advice can be given to a lottery winner or a vulnerable widow.
‘taking advantage of someone in order to profit from them or otherwise benefit oneself.’ might be easier to slide into than outright theft.
M Our protection: asking God to guard our hearts, our behavior, from greed and discontent.
