M We love focusing on stories of women in the Bible who were generous. Tabitha was such a woman. Acts 9 describes her.
V She died and Peter was summoned to her home. All the widows gathered there surrounded Peter showing him the robes and other clothing Tabitha had made for them.
Widows were a marginalized people group. Tabitha more than remembered them. She gave the beauty for ashes, pretty clothing in their time of grief.
Peter asked them to leave the room and got on his knees and prayed. Then he called her my name, Tabitha, get up. Acts 9:40. Imagine the widows’ joy. Imagine Tabitha’s renewed spirit to help the poor.
