Does experience count?

As this political season heats up, it is evident that voters are intrigued with new faces with little experience in politics. Political insiders don’t like that and say these outsiders can’t lead. They are inexperienced. Our current congress has a combined 8,700 years of political experience. How are they doing?
In Jesus day, the Pharisees and Saducees had defined how to live a godly life for decades based on their interpretation of centuries of leadership decisions. How were they doing? And then Jesus showed up.
Conviction of God’s good directions, and the courage to implement them won the day. Its not years of experience. Its God honoring convictions and the courage to implement those. God used Cyrus, Isaiah 45, not one of His people to lead well. May such leadership prevail today.
