Do you receive because you ask?

M One paradox in Scripture is this: we are told to ask God for what we desire and He’ll give it to us. Matthew 21: 23. That verse taken alone for example, has resulted in this skewed thinking. ‘God did not give it. because I didn’t have enough faith. He can’t deliver.’ Our faith shrinks.
V Consider what James 4:3 says. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. To God, it is never about the ‘thing’ we ask for. It’s our motivation.
What do we treasure? What brings us happiness? Why face each day?
M To honor God with all He gives us.
